Scam Alert Fake Wix Team Contact Form Submissions (Pijus on Fiverr & Liveness Checks)
Security Alert & Disclaimer: The following article contains details of active phishing scams targeting Wix users. The names, email addresses, and Case IDs listed below are for identification and educational purposes only. 10com is an official Wix Legend Partner and is not affiliated with the entities described in the scam examples. Do not call any phone numbers or click any links found in the scam screenshots below.

Urgent Warning for Wix Website Owners:

If you have received a message via your website's contact form claiming to be from the "Wix Team" or "Technical Performance Team," do not panic and do not click the link.

This is a known phishing scam.

Scammers are currently targeting Wix users by impersonating official support staff. They use technical jargon about "critical drops in rankings" to frighten business owners into hiring specific freelancers on Fiverr and Upwork, or to steal account details.

Below, we break down exactly what these scams look like, the specific red flags to watch for, and how to find real Wix help if you are worried about your site.

Why We’re Reporting This Scam Publicly

At 10com, we actively monitor real client accounts and inbound communications as part of our ongoing support and security work. When one of our clients is targeted by a phishing attempt or impersonation scam, we document it and report on it publicly.

We do this because these scams rarely affect just one business. They are typically part of larger campaigns targeting Wix users, agencies, and small businesses at scale. By calling them out as we see them, we help prevent other site owners from falling victim to the same tactics.

This article is based on real scam submissions received through live Wix websites. Our goal is to keep the broader Wix community informed, reduce the effectiveness of these scams, and provide clear guidance on how to identify legitimate Wix communications versus impersonation attempts.

The Primary Scam: "Pijus on Fiverr"

The most common version of this scam arrives not as an email to your inbox, but as a form submission on your own website.

  • The Sender: Often uses a generic name like "Wix Team" or "Support Team."

  • The Message: It claims your website has serious performance issues, "heavy CSS," or a "critical drop in Google search rankings."

  • The Trap: It urges you to contact a "certified optimization specialist" named Pijus on Fiverr (or similar names) immediately to prevent your site from being suppressed by Google.

  • The Fake Credentials: It often references a fake "Case ID," such as ER-GSC-84000.

5 Smoking Guns: How to Spot This is Fake

If you look closely at the message, the scam falls apart. Here is the evidence from a recent attempt we analyzed:

1. The Sender's Email Address

2. The Delivery Method

  • The Scam: They contacted you via your public contact form.

  • The Reality: Wix Support already has your email on file. If there is a billing or technical issue, they will email you directly or post a notification inside your account. They do not fill out your "Contact Us" form like a customer would.

3. The "Solution" is a Fiverr Gig

  • The Scam: The message directs you to a link for "Pijus on Fiverr" (or another freelancer platform).

  • The Reality: Wix is a publicly traded, multi-billion dollar company. They do not outsource their technical support to random freelancers on Fiverr. If there is a bug on the Wix platform, their internal engineering team fixes it; they don't ask you to pay a gig worker to do it.

4. Fear-Mongering Language

  • The Scam: Phrases like "Immediate Action Required," "Google will suppress your website," and "Critical drop in rankings" are designed to induce panic.

  • The Reality: Google Search Console sends its own notifications if there are critical errors. Wix does not monitor your individual SEO rankings to send you panic-inducing warnings via contact forms.

5. Suspicious Location Data

  • The Scam: In many reported cases, the submission IP address traces back to locations unrelated to Wix headquarters (such as the IP 102.88.112.110 originating from Nigeria).

  • The Reality: While legitimate support agents can be remote, a combination of a foreign IP, a non-Wix email address, and a link to Fiverr is a guaranteed scam.

Form submission: The message has been sent from 102.88.112.110 (Nigeria) at 2025-12-24 12:51:38 on Chrome 145.0.0.0

UPDATE: The "Reply CONFIRM" Variant

Status: Active as of January 2026

We are also seeing a simpler, but equally dangerous variant. This message claims "suspicious activity" or "ownership verification" is needed.

The Red Flags:

  • The Sender: Look at the "Reply-To" address. In recent cases, it is a nonsensical Gmail address like admwixsiteof.fi.cia.l.s@gmail.com. Official Wix emails never come from @gmail.com.

  • The Trap: They ask you to "Reply with CONFIRM" within 48 hours.

  • Why they do this: They are testing if your email is active (a "Liveness Check"). If you reply, they know a real person is reading, and they will likely follow up with a phishing link to steal your password or demand a fee.

  • What to do: Do not reply. Mark as spam immediately.

Need Real Help? Trust Verified Partners, Not Spammers

The reason these scams work is that many business owners are genuinely worried about their website's speed and Google rankings. The scammers rely on your fear to make a quick buck.

If you are concerned that your site might actually have performance issues, do not hire random freelancers who spam your inbox. Instead, verify your source.

Why Work with a Wix Partner?

Unlike the scammers, legitimate agencies go through a rigorous vetting process with Wix.

  • Official Badging: Real experts carry the "Wix Partner" or "Legend" badge.

  • No Cold Spam: Legitimate professionals do not spam contact forms to get clients.

  • Secure Access: We never ask for your password via email; we use the official "Wix Contributor" invite system which protects your account security.

10com: Your Safe Harbor

At 10com, we are an official Wix Legend Partner. We don't use scare tactics or fake "Case IDs."

If you want peace of mind, we can perform a genuine, professional audit of your site to see if those "critical errors" are real (spoiler: they probably aren't).

Scams are getting harder to spot. If you received a confusing email claiming to be from Wix regarding your site's security, billing, or SEO, don't guess.

As a Wix Legend Partner, 10com can verify if a notification is legitimate or a trap.

  • How to check: Simply send us a message through our secure contact form below.

  • What to send: Copy the message you received or attach a screenshot.

What To Do If You Receive The Scam Message

  1. Do Not Click: Do not click the Fiverr link or any other URL provided in the message.

  2. Do Not Reply: Replying confirms your email address is active, which may lead to more spam.

  3. Mark as Spam: Flag the message in your email client or delete the form submission from your site's inbox.

  4. Verify Safely: If you are worried there might be a real issue, open a new browser tab, type wix.com, and log in. Check your Dashboard or notifications bell. If Wix has something to tell you, it will be there.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does Wix send support messages via my website's contact form? No. Wix Support communicates via email (from an official @wix.com address) or through the Support Ticket system in your Wix Dashboard. They never use your public contact form to reach you.

Is the email "mail.wixteams@atomicmail.io" legitimate? No. This is a scam email address. Any email purporting to be from Wix that does not end in @wix.com should be treated as suspicious.

Who is Pijus on Fiverr? "Pijus" (and similar names used in these emails) is likely a freelancer account being promoted via aggressive spam. The scammers spam thousands of Wix contact forms, hoping to drive traffic to this Fiverr profile to sell unnecessary or fake "optimization" services.

Will Google "suppress" my site if I don't reply? No. This is a scare tactic. While site speed is important for SEO, Google does not "suppress" sites based on the random technical jargon listed in these scam emails.

I received an email claiming I used "copyrighted images" and must click a link to see "evidence." Is this real? No. This is a dangerous malware scam. Scammers often pretend to be a photographer or attorney (using names like "Melanie" or "Brittany") claiming you violated their copyright. The link they provide does not show evidence; it downloads a virus to your computer.

Does Wix ever call me directly to fix my site? No. Wix Support does not make unsolicited outbound calls to "fix" your site or "optimize" your rankings. If someone calls you claiming to be from Wix and asks for your credit card or password over the phone, hang up immediately.

I received a bill for "Domain Listing Services" that looks like a Wix invoice. Should I pay it? Check the sender carefully. Many Wix users receive physical mail or emails from companies like "Domain Listings LLC" or "SEO Registry Corp." These look like government bills, but they are actually solicitations for useless directory services.

How can I report this? You can forward the suspicious email or screenshots to abuse@wix.com so their security team can investigate the impersonation.
